Noreen Shaikh, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Vitreous Retina Macula Specialists of New Jersey. She specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous.
Dr. Shaikh earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, graduating summa cum laude. She then earned her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, where she was president of her class. She completed an internship in internal medicine at Overlook Medical Center, Atlantic Health System.
Dr. Shaikh pursued her residency in ophthalmology at Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown University, where she received extensive training in complex eye diseases. Dr. Shaikh specialized in retina surgery, completing her vitreoretinal fellowship training at Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts. She is trained in the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques for diseases of the retina and vitreous, as well as advanced techniques for the repair of dislocated intraocular lenses.
Dr. Shaikh is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists and Women in Ophthalmology. She has contributed to multiple publications in peer reviewed journals.
